Wood Restore
I recommend get this done professionally it is a lot of work to do well.
Very dusty preparation work getting old varnish off. By hand definitely no powered hand tools.
Carefully doest it! the veneer if finest quality but also very thin.
Even more work in the top coats, layer after layer rubbing back and more layers. This is a very high quality piano varnish not cheap but if done well gets a very nice finish. This pic is about 3 coats in of 8.
Not perfect but way better than before...
Always learning when you do stuff like this for the next time.

Re: Wood Restore
The whole thing put together looks really great! I was thinking of doing the veneer in my XJ40 but was put off when someone said how thick the lacquer is on them! Did you struggle or was it just a matter of patience?
Hard choice... by hand or using liquid stripper.
I did mine by hand and it took forever, also nipped in to veneer hard not to.
I save up and send then off or get some expert advice on stripping them first.
good luck
