Early build XJ-S in Australia

This one's a bit interesting - a 1975 build XJ-S with the following info supplied by its current owner:

"chassis number is2W 1197 BW .The car was originally delivered to Tourist Trophy Garage, Farnham, Surrey on 221 January, 1976. It was never sold in England but imported and sold to its first owner by Kellow and Falkiner of South Yarra. The first owner(s) was E.M.V. Nominees Pty Ltd, Rupert Street, Collingwood. The Registered number was VL - 100 The delivery date was 2 September 1976. In research I was lead to believe that this car predates the official launch vehicle by some 400 vehicles. I trust that this may interest you."

What an unusual find!

Dave, I wonder when it was rebuilt.

$13000 Aus doesn't sound that much these days.
A high miler perhaps as it has had so much work done?

The car was featured in Jaguar Magazine # 123 in 2005 as having been saved and the necessary work done etc, but I don't know its mileage.
Being an early build though it can only become rarer.

This one is back on Ebay at $12000 (AUD) or make an offer.
It's quite an early build but unfortunately my bank manager isn't agreeing with me that it needs to be preserved.
